Crossdrilled GM Crank

that might be a hard ticket to find! I spoke with Scott Kelly on this and there is the "slight" possibility he may get involved in bringing these back! GM designed that crank for the TTA's after all the issues the GN non cross drilled cranks were giving them. So stay tunned but good luck on your hunt!

I'm not an expert on this but I can tell you from personal experience and some research that they aren't TTA specific. I believe all SG1's had them( service replacement) blocks, lots of late 87's had them. Lots of N/A 109's had them too.
I helped open 2 109's(non SG1) blocks with them in it. One was a GM crate engine with 30K on it and it had one. And the other was a high mileage late carburated N/A with a cross drilled crank.
If I hadn't been there and held them in my hands I wouldn't have believed it, and some TB research backed up what I witnessed too.

I know we are told that the TTA SG1 block was alone in the use of the cross drilled crank but we are also told that the TTA SG1's came with roller cams.

Just sayin'

...

It's possible. Basically what happened was when GM was to put the engines in the 89 TTA for Indy 500, they once again hit up the engineers and asked them "what would you change" in the engine design. So they just took the information that was coming in from owners of the 86/87 GN's and saw what parts were failing and ways to fix/address the issues. The crank was a big one. So I'm sure after they redesigned the crank to the cross drilled crank they just made those.

I'll ask Scott next time I talk to him where he is at with this project.
