Cooling Fans

I have a Question about the radiator cooling fans. When I turn the car off the pass side fan stays on. Is this normal and how long does it stay on for. If I disconnect the power lead to the fan obviously it turns off and does not come back on when reconnected. But if I turn the ignition on the fan comes back on and stay on until disconnected. Any ideas on this??

This is normal it will run until the temp drops below whatever the sensor is set for (can't remember at the moment)
