Christmas came early

Jarred, this turbo hits hard. It's a Turbonetics 69mm Ball Bearing turbo.
This compressor wheel is Tnetics newest forged billet (HPC) wheel. Exhaust is the 65 wheel stuffed in Tnetics P-trim which is very close to the Garrett .63 housing. Big T-series (8 bolt) compressor S cover. Price is unreal!

Def to big for my setup now but I love it. Buying another for the WH1 soon. ... and another 9/11 converter too. Killer street combo! $1875 for Billet 9/11 converter AND this BB Turbo . Spools fine even on my setup. Sounds like a friggin fighter jet. I had to port the wg hole to .95/.96 to stop the boost spike. Now it spikes a little usually around 1.8#'s.lol Would be great for yours and not cost $2200.lol just for the turbo. BB 6766 w/ PTC 9.5 would be awesome though...

You wouldn't believe how fast it spools cause of the Tnetics smaller exhaust housing (street trim).

Polished compressor cover, ball bearing , billet forged wheel , built in oil filter and 1 year no questions asked warranty. Cool

Joe

Joe if you max that turbo out you will need a parachute, don't know why you would need a BB if you have the right T.C though, but yeah they sound mean...:burnrubber:

Yeah I am working on getting the motor into the car. The TA performance mounts are for a G body not an f body so they were not even close to fitting. I should have foreseen this problem however I did not. Paul from HR parts n Stuff is assisting in fabricating custom mounts. I have sent him measurements and he is working on it. I am not sure when he will have results, I sent him my tta and TA mounts back in November of 2013. I hope he finishes soon as I am anxious to get the engine in the car.

The Weldon fuel pump is installed and fit very well replacing the aeromotive proseries. So that was a plus.

It's always something buddy.lol

Sweet pump. Buddy has one.

Car is going rip Jarred. Same buddy has a similar combo in his TR. I will probably do the same thing when mine grenades. Not because of the speed but the AVAILABILITY of parts. Best bet would be switching to a GN style alum head and buy spares of everything, having doubles or triples of the more common things wouldnt be a bad idea when we have a car that nobody ever really made parts for. jmo

I had attempted to get the motor into the car using T/A performance motor mounts, but they didn't fit with the trans am k member. Really should have seen that one before it happened. How embarrassing. So Paul from HR Parts n stuff worked with me over the internet to fab up custom motor mounts. How he did it I'll never know but I do know it took about four months.
Motor is finally in the car and my current problems are mounting the oil dip stick tube. It interferes with plug and wire number three. I tried a champion ac delete bracket that retains the power steering pump, that did not work out so I am using the factory bracket and the ac delete pulley I bought new for 25 bucks, and sold the champion one.
I also installed a brand new turbo trans am engine wiring harness that I was lucky enough to have boughten a few years ago for wayyyy to much money.
I need a down pipe.
I need new vac lines
I need to plumb intake tubes to the front mount intercooler.

More progress pics...
Car is in shop getting down pipe fabricated. I am happy as I want to complete the project but may do a softer elbow off the turbo over winter. I am getting a new intercooler dam/scoop made as the one that came with the cooler is a little beat up.

Looks like you're getting really close...I'm excited!

BTW, I know you've probably thought about this, but is there any other options to plumb intercooler tubing on 3rd gens?

Through the core support(tie-bar)? Notching the top of the core support? ...anything other than down under?

I believe it saw a Camaro online with a strange intercooler piping through the rad support. I went this way as that is what the cooler outlet allows for. The car should be ready soon I hope.

Car is all together! Finally!
I replaced the breathers with a catch can and lines fitted to the valve covers. I have some MT slicks out back 28/9/15 they fit no problem. May try 29/9/15 for more traction off the line. I had it at the track last Friday. Have a two step limiter installed and it makes this popping sound while building boost on the line and it is very intimidating. All the loud pops make me think I am blowing a head gasket, drives me crazy. I ran 12.1 the first run, didn't do a very good burn put. Second run I did 11.7 at 119, better burn out and launch, but still didn't leave with much boost as the popping scared me. Last run I did 11.3 at 121 with a better launch but some tire spinning.
This was on pump gas and 14 psi boost. I believe I can get a better ET but will run 20 psi next time I am out, and hope for traction.

Problems I currently have is my headlamps don't go up when switched on. The lights do turn on but the pop up motors do not lift the light up. Does anyone know if there is a relay or solenoid for the headlight motors? I am positive the switch on the dash works and the motors worked very well before this project and have had the bushings replaced. Also my wipers don't work. Could this be a fuse?? I did install an entire new engine harness but that should not have any effect on headlamp motors or wipers right? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

There's a square plastic box next to the brake booster (to the left)with connectors going to it ... That's the headlamp relay box. Typically they go bad before the actual motors.

Thanks for this, the connectors were not plugged in. Same for the wipers. I must have unplugged them while placing the fuel lines. All is working now.
Thank-you very much.

Went back out to the track and car performed well. Turned boost up to 17lbs and ran a 10.8 at 128. Car felt great and launched hard!!
Turned boost up to 20 lbs and ran a 10.0 at 138 mph, my new best time. Car launched hard again. I marked the wheels/rubber and they are slipping so will have to screw the rubber to the rims. I also bought bigger tires to try although I'd like to use up my current set first.

This new record didn't come without issues...

I broke the trans mount completely in half, will order a new one.
Also I need to decide on putting a bar in as the track is not welcoming to me without a bar and 5point seat belt. I have new leather seat covers for this car waiting to be installed, I am unsure if I want to bar this car, or restore to a clean original look.

Snow came yesterday and track days are pretty much done for the season, will have to wait for next year to turn up the boost.

On the dyno the tuner had it up to 27lbs, I am worried about what else will break at that level besides a trans mount lol.
