breathers

The driver's side breather/tube to the inlet bell of the turbo...can I get rid of it for just a little autozone breather? Or do I need the negative pressure of the intake bell to evacuate the crankcase. If I can get rid of it can I just cap of the bell side?

Yes you can get rid of it, cap the bell side and put a breather on the tube off the valve cover. I'd also suggest replacing the oil filler cap with a breather

No problem I have two on my GTA's motor, one I dont remember where I got it and the other I got from Speed Inc http://www.ls1speed.com/

What you need is a 98-02 LS1 /1996 LT4 Breather, they fit well and I have not had a problem. BTW Speed Inc was also very helpfull when the one I was sent was boxed wrong and quickly got me a new one out before I sent it back and had me racing that weekend

Thats it, you only need one for the oil filler cap. On my car I put two drivers side valve covers on so I could have two breathers.

If you run this breather you can still put a little breather off the side of the valve cover or just block off the hole all together.

Interesting? I have oil fill caps on both sides. I guess that means someone put a DS cover on my passenger side?

Lucky you, I had to pay $200 bucks for a set of valve covers just to use the one driver's side on the passenger side. Got any pics? I wonder why someone went to the trouble to put a driver's side valve cover on their but didn't put a breather in it?DontKnow:

I wonder too. But there alot of things done to this car tha make no sense.
