Bowling Green, Kentucky this past weekend...

I took a trip down to Bowling Green for the Buick nats. Only one TTA present in the show. I didn't see any other TTA's around. Pictures from Bowling Green nats this past weekend are here...

It was overcast and COLD! Car show was beat. 20 some turbo Buick's. One GNX. One GSX. Maybe 50 total cars. That 13 hour drive sucks! Good amount of Buick parts scattered around. All the vendors were there. Racing was decent. A lot of turbo Buick's and many I've never seen before from down south. That gray T in my pics was amazing. That guy has some money into that car!

Race gas was $20.00 a gallon at the track. It was $20 bucks to get in every day. I took my GMC 2500HD and she got 17.3 MPG going 67mpg. Was very happy with that for a big truck! Was nice to see some friends that don't make it up this way much but that event is slowly dieing from what I've seen.

Hey Jim sorry Phil and I missed you. I guess with all the heavy coats and knit caps on no one would recognize anyone. Yeah turnout was disappointing even attendance wise, the stands hardly ever had enough people in them to fill 2 or 3 rows. We didnt stick around for saturday, left before dawn and headed home...12 hour drive going, 11 returning since we had police escorts running 85 for about half way across Arkansas... We were following a police chase down I30 then knowing every cop for 50 miles was at the scene when they flattened their tires we set the cruise at about 95 and hauled it

Thanks for posting the link to the pictures, enjoyed looking thru them. It did look cold, I noticed a few people wearing gloves!

Participation is down at both regional and national car events. Been the trend the last couple years. No surprise with the lousy economy. The expense of hauling a car, lodging, event fees, food, etc adds up. Then multiply that by doing two or three events in a year. I am only planning on doing one big event next year. Spent a lot of $$ this season. Thinking I would like to save that cash for another car purchase if something interesting comes along.

Rob I was bundled up all weekend you might not have even known me! It was cold for sure! Very rare that time of year down there. Was talking to Dennis Kirban and he said the vendors are getting lighter and lighter over the years. Does take a chunk out of your wallet! Had to be an 800 few days for me at least all done.

95 mph Rob!!! Whao that's fast for highway cruising.

We had a Porsche run up on us when going about 90, as the truck pulled out of his way after he had passed we punched it and ran up on his rear bumper and hung with him as he tried to accelerate away..went up to about 115mph and decided to let off, he probably was rolling at about 150 after that as he was gone! I do have a pic of the GPS on my phone that Phil took, I was driving Phil's car when all this took place. Later when he was driving he got it up to 123mph on the Tollway in Dallas We were just trying to get back to warmer weather

I was sitting in the lake about waist deep the next day in 88 degree weather having a cold one Water was 78 degrees. Too bad it's soo cold up there man!
