I can't really say it has been a nightmare....most of our issues were with the paint guy whom my dad told to "take his time" well you know how that goes...

Besides that, waiting for parts and lack of time has made this so long.

When complete, it will be worth it...I hope!

Oh I've made that mistake before, couple times. Never, Ever, EVER, say take your time..... The only thing you should say is "I am on a deadline!!" haha ha. Seems I am always waiting for stuff.

Ya and the guy was a personal friend of his so of course he couldn't get mad....until 6 months later. Soooo we switched painters.

But paint is one of those things that I feel if you tell the guy that you are in a rush, it will show in the final product. I have my 82 in the paint shop. I seriously hope it doesn't turn into a long term thing.

ahhhhh... body shop prison.. I had a 1 car in 3 separate prisons for 3/4 YEARS !! Of course I gave each of them some $$$ up front to push them along. Young an foolish BUT got a very good lesson in life.

Ya I had my spoiler painted in two weeks too.

This was a down to bare metal, switched colors, smoothed a lot of things out, yada yada. Lots of work done. Painted the motor, trans, rear end, firewall, engine bay, in fact the car was flipped upside down. Made fiberglass bumpers fit...I could go on. Not defending the guy, but it wasn't expected to be done in 2 months. Not quite a paint the spoiler deal.

I guess one good thing is we got out of there with no money lost. DontKnow:

Wow that's looking really good. Is that like a dark grey or is it black with a silver flake? I really like how your dad chose the pontiac blue on the block and heads. Everything is really well done, as I would expect from your dad. The only thing it's missing is a DSE hydroformed subframe :WOOT: Does this mean you guys are gunna bring it out to the Pontiac Nationals in August? I know you've been talking about going out there at some point, and now you guys could bring 2 Pontiacs.

Thanks Jared. The color is Cyber grey metallic. GM has 3 different variations and this one is 2010 ZR1 CGM.

Actually, we ordered the Detroit Speed subframe and they told us it would take up to a year to finish and ship to us. So, we went with the airride tech one inside. I have more pics of the subframe...it looks badass. It was beadblasted, smoothed out, and painted. All of the stock motor mount holes, trans mount, crossmember, shock, spring, mounts ect were all filled in. To the naked eye it looks custom...of course it isn't. That alone took a month.

I am not sure what we will be doing this summer. I got a fulltime job and get 2 days off. As of now, we won't make a single car show all year. I start the monday after finals finish and end the friday before school starts...

We shall see.

Forgot to upload this the other day.

I finished the fuel system over Christmas break and the sump is welded in now. Used the stock tank, double walbros with provision for an external addon when this motor blows.

-10 to each rail, -8 return, fuel labs AFPR, fuel labs fuel filter, yada yada. Hardlined the crossover tube at the front as you can see.

Fuel system with the external will be good to 1300wheel, 1000 E85. One and done for this one!
