Anyone know the best way to remove the valve covers? What has to be removed?

Who sells the cork gaskets too?

From what I remember I think for the pass. side I had to Jack the engine up a little.

You don't have to jack it up for the passenger side, that one should come right off. Drivers side is a real bitch, I don't remember what you have to take off but if I remember right it helps to remove the vacuum black by the egr solenoid, the plug wires, and then just move stuff out of the way slowly.

I don't think they make cork gaskets for TTA valve covers since they're center bolt instead of perimeter like the GN.
 
Valve cover gaskets are different than GN and are rubber, I think the Fel Pro number is VS50075R and the grommets are ES72134

Passenger side is easy, drivers side has fuel lines and engine harness in the way along with the EGR solinoid bracket. Alternator is also somewhat in the way, but like just about everything on a TTA if you know what your doing and take your time it's really pretty easy :)

The felpro ones are fine to use.I've used them twice and reused one set once.

The Victor Reinz gaskets are suppose to be a little more robust in thickness,but they are tough to find.

I'm going to hunt them down for this time around, but I think the secret is properly setting the cover down in place and torqueing the acorn nuts down to spec.

You can tell if they have been overtightened before if when you look at the valve cover with the grommets out the round part is bowed inward.

Find the gaskets, find the torque specs, find the grommets, and when you do, buy two of everything and send them to me. This is a project that will be completed by August of 2011 so I hope your motor is done by then. :cowboy:
 
I've never had a problem with Fel Pro's on my cars (I still use the 9441PT on my GTA and have never blown a headgasket with well over 650 passes in the mid 10's to low 11's) but Victor Reinz gaskets are also very good and I wouldnt hesitate to use them.
