A 7,000 mile TTA (leather/T-top) sold for $23k, see lot #54. While that's decent money compare it with lot #617, a 1990 GTA, 5.0L with 7,800 miles. That car sold for $19.5k. Doesn't seem right to me but the value is only what the highest bidder is willing to pay.

I was thinking the same thing about that. Strange, but I guess GTA's were what everyone wanted back in the days growing up and now those people have some money and are getting their dream car finally. It's all good since I am never selling my TTA anyways :o)

Seems WAY off to me.

My buddy has a rare GTA and he only wants $5k for it, and its in GREAT shape.

You cant touch a TTA in the same shape for under $10k.

Atleast the street values reflect a little more sanity HAHAH :chair: ---

Do you have pics of your buddy's GTA for sale?

I have read books and talked to good people concerning the value of our TTA's. From my conclusion;

I see the 50's & 60's cars worth big $$$ now.
But more and more old collectors cars and being pulled out of the barns or storage places and being sold. Baby Boomers are selling due to retirement, health, economy .... These 50's & 60's Camaro's, Chevelle's, Firebirds, Mustangs and Corvette's were their generation.

In 20 years, we will remember our generation of cars and want to relive our youth. The 80's and 90's cars was OUR generation. Regals, Monte Carlo's, 3rd and 4th Gen Firebirds, TA's and the older Old's. Most of us will pass on the 50's & 60's cars because that WAS NOT our generation. There will be a demand for our TTA's in the future.:beee:

I am no expert (ask JaSon)lol This post is total speculation on my part.

To me the TTA seemed pretty right. The GTA really surprises me quite a bit. I guess the 5.7s were pretty awesome right up untill they came out with the TTAs!

I agree with this completely. Think about, there was a time where '32 Fords were fetching much higher prices than anything else. While they still fetch high prices at times you can find some basic roadsters for a reasonable price now. Then the 50's generation hit and the Bel-airs went for crazy prices, and have now come back down some. Then the 60's generation hit and the 1st gen Camaros sky rocketed, and have now started to come back down. The early 70's kind of overlapped with the 60's for the Mopars and Mustangs, but the 2nd Generation F-bodies are now coming around and bringing some pretty high prices. Look at the popularity of the late 70s TAs now like the Bandits, 5 years ago no one would touch them. The 80s will have their prime but it won't be until that generation hits their peak which seems to happen about when the car hits 35-45 years old making the buyers about 45-55.
