Backing Plate to cure moan (Brakes)

Does anyone have a source that sells the revised caliper mounting plate for cars affected by the "rear disc brake moan" problem?

My TTA does this from time to time, especially when I back up...

My mechanic found a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB), but when he called to check about part availability, was told that it was discontinued and no longer available. He gave me a GM part number (229-686-5812) but I haven't been able to find it.


I am sure this issue affected (at least) all GTAs, so I am hoping that someone has a suggestion as to where to find the parts, or a repair/fix that would solve this problem. Maybe the old part can be somehow reinforced?

I have 2 89s and one has the 1st design and the other one is the second design. Only a few thousand apart VIN wise.
