Google ASC Trans AM......

ASC will take your 2010 Camaro and convert it into a circa 1970 Trans AM......it looks 10 times better than the Camaro

I'v been watching this too. I keep :wall:because I'm hearing all this talk. I'm working on getting a G8 GXP right now, as I want one last new Pontiac, but I'm not sure if that is the right move. This ASC T/A is lurking, and now this http://www.connectmidmichigan.com/news/news_story.aspx?id=316532 . Is Pontiac ging to stay or go? Will we have another trans am? If pontiac is purchased, will it be the same or different? For 86 years Pontiac was always GM.:explosion:

Also roumours the G8 will become a Buick .... as the G8 sells pretty well and they like to keep the model but with Pontiac gone they need to move it to a different division within GM to keep the G8 ...

Thanks Jan, Just add more to my indecisiveness! I would have to agree with Rodimus. I think Pontiac needs to become thier own brand. Hopefully they would become more reliable and better built, as well as giving the cars thier identity back.

You would think this would make sense and be easy to do as the G8 is sold in the following regions under different nameplates:

Austrialia (of course) as a Holden
China as a Buick
Middle East as a Chevy
UK as a Vauxhall

So what did GM's new CEO have to say on the matter.

"I am not a fan of rebadging."

Most problems can be fixed with time and/or money. Except you can't fix stupid!

That idea was shot down....but it will come back "sometime"

I bet Pontiac comes back too. Just like GM axxing the Camaro.

I would love to see pontiac bought out and live on. Great things could be built with GM no longer in control.

My wife relly wanted a G8 for her next car. But we are will not be ready for a new daily driver for about 3 years and by then pontiac would be gone. When I told her that the G8 might be saved as a Buick she said " When I'm 70 I'll think about buying a Buick". Its just a shame thats how people see buick.
