Anyone bought the map pocket emblem from carmotorsports.com

If you bought one very recently could you post a picture or two of it as the picture they posted looks like their nose emblem with black on gold 20th ANNIVERSARY text on there ...

Just thought I might get 1 or 2 as spares before they stop making them ... but like to be sure they are as close to the original emblems as possible or I might just cut the pin off the NOS pin's I have.
 
Here you go Jan - it's kind of a crappy picture, but the lettering is not black. I am not sure if they changed it recently as I bought this one over a year ago. I am thinking they got the photos mixed up and that is a pic of the nose emblem in the ad.

BTW - I looked at the pic and it looked like some of the gold had tarnished but I just checked it again, and the gold is fine. Once again - a terrible pic. The car is covered and I took it in a dark setting and the camera was having trouble focusing on the emblem. So - I think you would be OK buying a few spares. Did you hear a rumor that they were going to stop making them?
 
Thanks for posting that one up ... it does look like they posted the same picture for the map pocket emblem and the nose emblem on ebay so just wanted to confirm they were all gold lettering before getting a couple.

Well you never know how long they keep paying the GM licensing fees, as Dave in Australia discontiuned his emblems and just depleating his stock I thought maybe carmotorsports.com might do the same at some point in time and prices gone up as well I noticed on their other emblems so no point in waiting too long I guess :-)
 
Here is some of the spares I have, they all have the Gold Lettering. The oem one is on the left and a reproduction is on the right.
Notice the one on the right has larger lettering and the back of the emblem is curved somewhat.

The one on the left came off a low mile TTA and the one on the right I got off Jersey Poppey on e-bay sometime back.

Also noticing 8289's emblem, the Trans Am at the top has some black in it or it could be the dark lighting and both of these are solid gold Trans Am writing.

Both that I got from them have the gold lettering. But I got them almost 2 years ago. That probably doesnt help you Jan.
 
Mike - is that a Car Motorsports repro? I don't remember mine having that much of a curve to it.

I have not idea who made it, I was hoping someone on here would have one like it so they could tell me.

The one I have on my car is like the one on the left, but the one on the right is the ???
 
i picked up a spare off ebay but it has a pin like u put on a hat ... guess i could cit the pin off flush an mount it if i ever need to .... one local guy had his map pocket emblem stolen at charlotte autofair pissed him off he hasnt taken it back

That curved one looks like one I have (made in Taiwan on the bag) but it's slightly smaller than the map pocket emblem and thinner so not sure where those came from ...

Yep as far as I understand the hat pin was made from the map pocket emblem so that would be my plan B if I need one as I have several NOS hat pins and can cut the pin off with a dremel.
