Wow, I wish I would have taken pics.... I just got my A/C recharged with R-12 and while it blew cold I figured after 20+ years there may be some leaves etc in the rattrap area.
I took the blower motor out first and was taken back by the amount of fuzzy wad that looked like a combination of bird feathers/leaves/who knows. I took the shop vac and got most of it out, then took the top half of the plastic off of the core. deep down at the bottom it was moist and compacted crap. I shop vac and compressed air it all out...
Put it back together and WOW thats the freeze of R-12 I remember. So if your AC isnt blowing or cooling as good this could be a potential reason.
