79-81 T/A whiskey decanters

I've had these for awhile anyone seen them before or know what they are worth??
The smaller one is porcelain, to get the whiskey you remove the whole whindsheild ttop area.
The larger one is plastic with a removable deck lid to get to the whiskey.
The white one still has its tax stamp inplace and I dont think the little one has ever been open either??

The 10th Ann one is far more common

The turbo needs the side mirrors, this one sold for $6. I would have bid if I had seen it.

I know the mirrors are missing on the white one. The previous owners maid lost them while cleaning. These cars are pairs that were split up.
These came from the owner of a Pontiac dealership in springfield IL. (Huber Pontiac)
I have some dealer promo models an paintings of Pontiacs also.

Its mostly older stuff,I dont have pix of the painting/ drawings but one is a 30s Pontiac, 2nd is a 80 turbo pacecar, last is of the 87 banks turbo salt car (#1073 of 1200) its signed. have some more but thats all the pix I have now.
 
I started back in 1979 collecting toy cars after I bought my 79 trans am. Then I fell into the toy black hole. I stopped or a year, but started again a few years back. I have dealer promos also. In my old collection, I have dealer items from 79 to 89, like post cards, dealer posters, etc. This is my toy site

You have a sickness. I'm prescribing that you buy the rest of my '89 TTA collection to help fill the void. I have a new in box 1989 Pontiac Dealer Album, TTA brochures, some misc. 1989 Indy 500 items, etc.

And I think you and George should have a contest to see who has the most toys! :yes: :rofl:

wow very impressive collection, agree with Ron you and George definitely have to get together and compare notes.

That website takes a lot of time that's for sure; I kind of started taking photos of my stuff but don't have the time and when you keep adding stuff to your collection all the time it's difficult to keep up with it.

Anyway thanks for sharing, great reference site to figure out what I might be missing (I'm just doing the 3rd Gen Firebirds and some 4th Gen).
 
Funny thing, George and I go back to the 80s, when we were in the trans am club. He lived in so cal at the time. We were arch rivals!! I would buy one, he would buy 2. So I would get 3. Then he got 4, etc. We went toy hunting, to car shows, auto shows, etc. We lived at the pontiac dealership, hoping to get free dealer stuff. George, who has more??

The site is a lot of work, but I enjoy it. My son and I grew closer going to toy stores, show, conventions and such. my brain washing was so good he has a few real trans ams in his collection of cars.

Rivals in a good way. When you got stuff, it made me want to get stuff also. I have so much boxed away, and I ended up with all of Berts stuff when he sold his collection. Remember him? Most are in still in cases unopened. I hope to retire in 2 or 3 years, and then I will take everything out, spends a few years taking pictures and enjoying them. Then sell them all

I checked out your site. Very nice. It was great to see the past Trans-a-rama pictures. We may have met at it. My first one was in 1986. That was when I met George and his whale tail 81 Turbo Trans Am.

At the 1989 Reno Trans-a-rama George let me drive his 89 TTA on course for one lap in the Auto-cross event and I was hooked ever since on these cars!

I have one of the 10th T/A decanters, but the alcohol dried up along time ago. The corks dried out and exposed the alcohol to the air.

Those Trans Am events were the best of times for me. I am hoping to find some more pictures over the next few months. My best memory was having over 100 Trans am cars driving around the lake at the South Lake event. We started, and just kept going, even running the red lights, all in one single line.
George, I will try and take a drive up to you next year. My son and I can take a trip over in one of our cars
 
I doubt we will ever see an event like that from the Club up here in Sacramento again. They only have about a dozen active people in it. Too bad. It is one of the last two remaining Trans Am Club of America Chapters. Lack of Firbird production for 10 years is not helping it.
