3rd Gens Prices

For 6 months i have trolled ebay and craiglist for another toy and watched 3rd gens go up. I look at mileage and condition of course and see time and time again a clean GTA L98 car up for 15 and up. I found a few around here on Long Island for $17,500. One is an 87 L98 GTA with 48K miles Hard top, red on black, digital dash very clean, another one is really clean 1988 L98 with 7k original miles for 15k (good deal imo). These are just 2 examples and ebay has a bunch. I never really thought 3rd gens would see these type of prices considering not to long ago it was hard to even get 5k for these cars. In 2001 it took me 8 months to sell a mint white 1989 IROC 305 tpi 5 speed car with t-tops, 58k miles, all original except 3" cat back and headers. That similar car in that condition with a stick would be a 10-13 grand iroc now. How times have changed. :eeks:

Now that is a refreshing perspective..... most here think the values are still low....good to see them on a rise. When I got my TTA's appraised for insurance two years ago, the appraiser said that the the values of the third gens had bottomed out and were on the rise. Good news for owners, bad news for buyers... although I still feel it is a great buyers market for most cars right now.

I agree, i know value of the tta is a touchy subject but i have also seen a slight rise in them. Last year i paid 17.5 for mine with 25k on her, now i see higher mile ones pulling that or more. I purchased mine for the love not the resale but it is nice to see them going north. I love these cars always have since i was a little shit. Still want a GN

They are hoovering at about $15 right now, like GN's are. The problem is, there are always about 10 for sale at any given time. Once they become more rare, then the price will start to creep up.

Always good to hear of values rising. I hope the trend continues.
