2011 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am Reunion! Hebron, Ohio 7/30/2011

I really think over 100 is a definate possibility. I would be thrilled seeing 50 in one place and I know more than that will be there.

Looks like the speaker list is just about done for the event! Here is the list of speakers we have attending and speaking...

Guest speakers are as follows:

Ron Yuil- Buick Engineer led the Turbo Group when they went intercooled and turbocharged from 1986-1987. Also will speak about Buick Engineers racing the Prototype GNX against the Calloway Corvette and history of Turbo Regals from 1978-1987.

Dave Roland- Gm Service Writer wrote all the manuals for Turbo Regals and GNX. Powerpoint presentation on Turbo Regals and also never before seen pictures (album) of the building and development of the GNX.

Bill Owen- who designed the cross member and mounts for the torque arms for the Pontiac TTA and more importantly was the person who came up with the idea to use FWD 3800 heads so the engine could fit in the engine bay will be attending as well. He will speak on the long time it took for Pontiac to start and finish the project from in house special car to a legend. He will discuss how it exceeded the rigid tests for Indy 500 pace cars, and how it could have qualified for the Daytona 500.

Wayne Sherman another Buick engineer hopes to attend and bring his T-Type which could possibly be the only factory Turbo Regal test car still existing. His close friend Tom Halka, rod and piston engineer for the Turbo 3.8 hopes to attend and bring his low 13 second pristine 79 Turbo Coupe.

Joe Guzek who designed many popular muscle car wheels including the GN and Denny Manner the "Father" of the Stage 1 will be present as well for enthusiasts to enjoy as well.

Car cruising at Ruby Tuesdays will start Thursday night and continue every evening of the event. Vendors and parts/swap meet will be available as well.

National Trail just replaced and paved new concrete for both lanes on the starting line, so traction should be exceptional!

Dent specialist will be on site to help out any owners with dents/scratches.

Golf karts will be on site to rent for the weekend.

Coughlin Buick will be displaying several Buicks including the new Turbo Regal, Enclave and Lacrosse and several GMC trucks as well for enthusiasts to see and test drive as well.

This event is also open to all high performance and classic Buicks. Invitations have been sent out to Lesabre T-Type owners, Turbo Rivieras, Gran Sports of all years, FWD SC 3800s as well. Please join us for this 72 hour blitzkrieg of Buick addiction. Meet new friends, see old ones, meet/ask questions with the legends who built these cars that 24 years later we are still infatuated with if not even more than ever. First time outside of Flint Michigan in the late 1980s we have all these G-Body Engineers in one location. Never before, anywhere else outside Buick in Flint and the Pontiac plant. Never again will all these individuals be in one place. Any further information for hotels as they are pretty much all sold out within the Heath Ohio area, please visit our website at The Buick Performance Group . I wish you all and your families and friends safe travels to and from our event in Columbus and wish you all a great summer as well. Hope to see you in Columbus in July for the fun. Get rest you will need it.

Im in... I just bought my TTA about a week ago..

Awesome! I just talked another new TTA owner into coming. TTA 818 will be there as well!

This event is for these cars and their owners! If you ever do ANYTHING with your TTA it would be to bring it out to this event!

Only about 2 1/2 months till this great event is upon us!!. I remember learning about this and planning on attending even before I owned a TTA, like a year and a half ago. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone, the cars, the guest speakers and everything "turbo" related.!!

Just got word today Dennis Kirban and Pete Hoffman from Kirban Performance will be at the event this year! Dennis has been around turbo Buick's since day one and he's a wealth of information. He also may speak at the event. He is also a wealth of knowledge. I'm sure they will be selling parts as well. New and used.

I have a thought:

Should somebody video tape all the guest speakers and post it on the forum for all those that can not attend the event.

Lots of Pictures would probably be a good idea to.

I seen on turbobuick.com forum that Hartline Performance was selling a DVD of the Southern Buick Shootout.

Since this is a reunion should there be a DVD disk made of this event?

Already thought of and done long ago. We'll have 4 photographers and 3 guys doing video. Jan bought a new video camera just to record the sessions. Also one of my photographer friends is flying in from Colorado just to do pictures and video of it all.

I am planning to attend this year for my first time and was wondering if I don't arrive until fri. late afternoon, what am I missing on fri.? Also, since the host hotel is booked how Is the security at the holiday inn xpress and the quality inn? It says security provided at both of these places. Thanks to all.

Well I'm working out the details with Scott Kelly but there might be some Q&A sessions on Friday if anything. Lots of racing on Friday and shootin the bull for the most part :)

All the hotels around the area are good. Knock on wood they have not had one issue around there. The following weekend is the Mopar nationals and they never have issues either so you should be fine. If you want keep calling the host hotel right up to a few days before. You might get lucky and grab a room off a last second cancellation. I've done that in the past years. They do have a list to get on. Then you can just cancel your other hotel reservations.

I got a great phone call today! The editor from High Performance Pontiac called me and they want to do a article on the event!! They were on the fence for awhile about running something on the event after it happens but even they are hearing about the buzz that is in the air about the event! While it's costly to bring a photographer up from Tampa where they are from, I'm going to have a few photographer at the event shooting some really good stuff for them. So shine those TTA's up and make them look pretty because your car just might make High Performance Pontiac!!

Thanks Philly for the reply and all the hard work you and others are doing to make this happen.

I'm doing it for you guys and the cars! So make sure you bring them out!! :)

Now I can't speak anymore on this BUT... someone told me IF we have 200 TTA's at this event... next year something really special might happen for our cars! That's all I can give out at the moment but pass the word and bring those TTA's out. Just seeing them all over the place is going to be my reward. I've been around 5 or 6 at one time but this event is going to be something your going to talk about for a long long time!

Plus you guys get to meet Jan Larrson! George should be there as well I have to give that old surfer a call and see where he's at!
