2011 daytona beach spring car show and swap meet

Went to the spring car and swap meet, saw a lot of interesting cars there. Big Daddy Don Garlits had one of his old drag cars there and he had it runing.

Nice pics. Gotta love that rat rod with the spanish moss accents!! Back in the late 60's, my dad used to race front engine dragsters and ran against Garlits a couple times. My dads group never made it big like Garlits and they retired the dragster in the 70's sometime.

Nice pics, I used to go but haven't been for several yrs. Almost bought a very low mileage TTA there back in the 90's. If you like TTA shirts- I have an original TTA shirt in large-never worn.

It was great seeing one of the true legends of Drag Racing, Don Garlits. He is known as the father of drag racing. He looked great for being 78 or 79 years old. Got him to autograph a cap I got from him.
