2009 Reunion Idea

The thought of a 20 th Anniversary for the 20 th Anniversary Trans Am is a very good idea. And to tag on to another national event will definatly help out.

Here's a thought though: The 3 actual Pace cars were all driven to Indy by different press people from different cities prior to the event for promotional purposes. The 3 cities are Los Angeles, Boston and Miami. We could organize a cruise from each city and all arrive at Indy or the TA Nat's. This could get TTA owners from all over the country to participate, that is if they drive their cars. The magazine's would come out of the wood work to ride along, document, and photograph the event. LA might be a little to far though. We should actually start about 1200 miles from the final destination and run 300 miles a day for 4 days. It would be a blast!

After the small gathering in Dallas, 3 of us ran down the hi-way together for about 10 miles or so, in formation, and recieved many thumbs up and a lot of head-turning. I wish I had photograph that!

I recently drove mine from Texas to Atlanta for the Bandit Run and had a lot of fun cruising with 70 other Trans Am's. And yes, we occasionaly went over the speed limit. It ended at the Year One Experience that weekend. Hot Rod and Automobile magazine were on the cruise and then 3 other magazines at the Year One event. I scored a photo in this months GM Hi-tech magazine.

I like the idea in the other post about meeting for the TA Nats then cruising over to Indy for a night. Surely, the track would offer some type of hospitality for us.

This would require a lot of preplanning and some sponsors. Maybe some help hosting by local F-body clubs along the way too!

I will be in for whatever is put together....and it should be done in 2009

I was wondering whose TTA was at that event.
Glad to see you posting over here.
Hope you stay.
You will have to post your pictures of the event, and of your car.
BTW, welcome to the site!

Good to see you post over here where the TTA chat belongs! :) Sounds pretty cool to me! I won't drive mine but I'll trailer it. The press guy can ride in the car in the trailer  :read:

I doubt I'll drive my TTA to the show I would probably trailer it just because I don't want to spend hours cleaning it once I get there. But if we go to Indy I'll be more than willing to drive to Indy and cruise along with everyone and just let my parents follow behind with the trailer plus then we'd have backup in case anyone breaks down (hopefully we wouldn't need it though).

I contacted Sue who runs the TA Nats and she said that they don't want to talk about anything in 2009 until 2008 is done which really sucks. I would like to know enough ahead of time to let some magazines know and let us actually plan what we want to do. It's hard to really plan a show in under a year with everything that is involved.

I'd drive mine off the trailer, on the highway, then it would break. Then I would trailer with the rest of you guys!

A drive to Indy would be cool. I'd do it. Is it possible to get on the Indy Speedway for a picture?

with talking to the right people and if we can get a magazine to maybe back us, yes we can get on the track. I've got a couple connections to the speedway and to the museum so we can see what we come up with. My TTA has been on the track a couple years ago. It's interesting but nothing fantastic, it's amazing different the track looks when you're actually on it though.
