I have always heard that the tta was the first indy 500 pace car to run without engine modifications, but they also said that about the 86 corvette pace car. Is there something I am missing, or was this just another example of the typical thing where gm just says whatever they want about the car they are advertising?

I don't know but I bet we are in for another conspiracy rant...

Besides the strobe lights and safety equipement, and the ABC camera stuff they did not modify the TTA and Scott Kelly mentioned this during the reunion as well, so GM was right :-)

Everyone knows it was the "black helicopter" that was the first to pace the race with no modifications. :read:
