114k mile TTA on ebay

Here's the first auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6420&item=330183018874 where the seller had a $12K reserve, but must have lowered it to what it sold for.

Notice, the entire tone of the "sell" changed from auction to auction. I bet the first buyer saw it and walked away because it's a turd.

I love this quote from the second auction.
the a/c is totaly function, but needs to be recharged

Yes, I bet the the fan is totally functioning, but I bet the compressor, dryer and evaporator all leak.

...

I figured that was the same car.....either way it would be somethin I could drive and not feel guilty about rackin a few miles on. That turd could be polished :D

I think calling it a turd is a little harsh. To me it looks ok and if it goes for $9K again it gives someone who wants one of these cars, but is limited on cash, a chance to own one. Yeah it needs some work and some things replaced to be nice but hey not everyone is in the position to buy really nice cars. When I first got into these cars the only thing I could afford was a stolen recovery for $5K that didnt run or have an interior, but I was still ecstatic to own a TTA :)

I think our definitions of "turd" are different than each others. I call my '05 minivan a turd. But I don't mean it's a P.O.S. when I say turd. It's just a generalization of vehicle that has seen better days.

But, I don't feel it's a $9K car. It's had, or needs, some high dollar work done. And after watching and studying TTAs for what seemed like forever, this one just doesn't look worth $9K.

I just bought mine 1 1/2 months ago for 11,500 with 48k,new spoiler, everything working, and the car is near perfect. It has a clean title, carfax and all it needed is a new intermediate pipe. I was thinking that in the range of 9k is a little high considering all the stuff that has been done, it needs alot of love to be brought back to life. It would make for a nice one if someone wanted to do extreme mods and have the nostalga of a TTA in hand.

Sorry for the misunderstanding WS6 :)

As for the price, the market on these cars seems all over the place sometimes and good deals can still be found. It's already up to $8K so we'll see what it ends at and if it sells.
