wastegate "y" orifice

I think ##1001 has the wrong plastic "y" wastegate orifice hose splitter. I believe it's black in color but I can get boost above 9 to 10 psi. Perhaps there is a GN on there niw and not a TBA one. If anyone has one the would like to part with or have any ideas on how get me hands one one or other options please let me know.

Thanks. Aaron.

It took me a long time to find a NOS TTA "Y" correct orifice. John's performance did offer a kit where you could remove the GN orifice and put the TTA correct one in there. He is no longer in business though!

Do you have a aftermarket boost gauge ? The fac. boost gauge is not very accurate if it works at all, in fact i'm on my third tta and not one of them worked.

I don't have an aftermarket boost gauge. However I can feel the lack of boost when I'm driving it.

To this day I use a custom made screw in orifice, that is TTA correct size in a GN "Y". I punched the old GN orifice out.

That's what I have / use as well ... the one John used to sell; I got two of them at the time just to have a spare one and now I start wondering where I put that spare one ...

Yep, John's orifice was cheap and effective.

I did compare looking thru the nos TTA "Y" and the GN one, the TTA one is for sure smaller!

Understood, but i still don't like the factory set-up, check all the vac. lines for crack's and if you rub them and your fingers are black then replace. It is important that you get a real number, not just what you think that 25yo gauge is telling you....

Heck even when they were new they were terribly inaccurate a lot of times, or slow to respond. The 5k mile TTA I used to have had to get to 7-8lbs before the needle would start to move, but would eventually read correctly if you stayed in the boost long enough :D

My stock boost gauge has always worked great on the TTA, don't really like the one one the Syclone though!

You can buy a cheap gauge and pod like shown and if you tee the vac line line like the pic you can compare both at the same time, or just connect directly to the map sensor... you can use velcro on the pod so its easy off... edit; for some reason the site won't let me load pics.
