Need help Turbo upgrade..what to buy?

I'm looking to upgrade the turbo, something that will give me a noticeable change I'm just not sure how to pick out the correct turbo, if possible I'm trying to keep the stock torque converter, also is there one that will just bolt in place with out doing allot of upgrades..so far all I have done are turbo tweak chip and 28lbs injectors
 
A ball bearing turbo will spool faster than standard journal, there by not requiring a stall convertor upgrade. I'd go with a 44 from either Prescision or turbonetics. .63 ar turbine housing. They make stock appearing or bigger compressor intake. Both will bolt up to stock stuff. I'd run a larger injector though.

I would dump that stock converter and get a nice turbo/converter that match and you will have a noticible difference. I bought a big turbo, then a big stall, and then I ended up getting both replaced so they matched better. You'll save money doing it once. I agree with Ratfink regarding getting the larger injector. Of course if you do get bigger injectors you'll need a new chip, then you really have a noticible difference.

how fast you lookin to go ??? I have a Buick with a new BB turbo (like a 44).. Worked great with the stock converter.. Ill be racing it in a few months. Will go mid 11s anyway.
 
TE44 will do a low 12 e.t.

I went 12.10 @113mph with a TE44, stock convertor, 42lbs inj, TT chip, non progressive Alky injection, 1.9 60 ft time on moderately sticky Nitto drag radials.
 
Turbonetics 44 or 60-1... They come with the smaller tnetics .63 housing which similuar to the .63 Garrett housing.

If you are making less than 500hp, the smaller exhaust housing is the way to go. Dyno test's show the smaller exhaust housing has a better power curve under 500hp applications.

Plus your Tnetics turbo's will come with big shaft, 1 year no questions asked warranty and built in oil filter. These turbo's can take a beating!

I think you meant TA 49,

TE stands for larger compressor intake. TA stands for stock appearing.
Internals are the same. The stock appearing is more restrictive because of the bottle neck designed intake so they are rated like 15 hp less than the more open design of the TE compressor intake...

After thinking about this for a while I'm taking a different approach to putting upgrades on my car..instead of slapping a big turbo on there I'm going to upgrade on suspension and tires after that I'll move to the transmission..no point to create more H.P if I can't get out to the floor..
