Anyone have a clear pic of the vac lines going to the egr? did a smog test yesterday and passed everything but the 25-25 NOx. wanted to make sure the vac lines are right before i pull the egr off. i did replace the chip with a TTemission chip (runs like sh#t) and lowered the fp. also the cat dont have 1k miles on it. only 2 more yrs of this b.s :mad:

Robert, I don't know what chip you are running. But some of the chips cause the egr to not work. The one in my car is that way.
 
Okay, vac lines are right. this is the same egr valve that was on it last yr when it passed (barely) all the other #s are a lot better than last yr, this yr the NOx was 1716 (1121 allowed) last yr 889. one weird thing when i was adjusting the fp the SM int's were going one way and the BLM'S were going the other way. btw i pulled the egr and nothing is stopped up but it is a aftermarket egr, anyone got a NOS for sale?
 
For the EGR, I think the nos part # is 17086016 for the TTA and 17111570 for the GN. I am sure the GN one is the same.

They both even cross over to the same part # in Wells, which is EGR146.

So if you could find either of the nos part numbers, you should be ok.

Maybe someone like Jan could verify this for us.

Just trying to help. Sure glad I don't have to put up with the emissions test down here.:beach:

10 mile's south, no smog-test-go figure, not sure what the fix will be on this but i know alot of aftermarket parts are sh$t so sometimes NOS is the ticket :mad2:
 
I'm no emissions guru but I think you're going the wrong way with the fuel pressure.A lean A/F will raise combustion temps and cause NOx counts to rise. This is tricky of course because too rich and the hydrocarbons and CO's rise, failing you for that.

My advise is to simple move to where they don't have emissions.....simple....right?

yeah i thought about that lean a/f mix too, at 38 psi fp it will barely run, at 40 psi your eyes will water but runs good. Oh and move somewhere else, yep that sounds cheaper :censor: I would rather be beat with a hickory stick :yes:
 
EGR Valve Part numbers

Production #17086016 (so used from the factory)

Over the counter replacement:
#17111570 (214-5346) - Discontinued

Replaced with:
#17111583 (Delco 214-5355)

There's also the Delphi one EG10156 listed to replace both of above.

And yes TTA and GN are the same but might have had "old" different part numbers listed.
