just dont get it

While your installing the injectors, it may be a good time to clean the throttle body & the intercooler & adjust your tps if needed. I noticed a good power difference in drivability when those items were done too.

The injector pulse width is changed for the bigger injectors, so the car should have a lean condition based on the new chip narrowing that pulse width for the bigger injector. If he doubled the size of the injector the chip calls for, the computer should be firing the old injectors with half the pulse width it had before, causing a severely lean condition. I think it would still start, or at least try to start but run badly.

yeah, that sounds correct.

It appears he is on the right path, since he is in the process of cleaning the throttle body, I believe the intercooler has been cleaned 1 or 2 times, and he may want to adjust the TPS.

Once it is back together with the new injectors and chip in there, as stated earlier, drive it around and let it learn its new parts.

yep, it would start, run, then die :chat:

few pics of injectors, old and new. thought i would pull the egr( last pic ) and look what i found, some people and there children! this would explain why the idle was searching when it was cold :disgust:

Clean it and use it, EGR should not be a problem with new chip, if you read paper that came with your chip, I believe the EGR is bypassed.

New gasket for the egr and your new chip/injectors idle should be niiiiice
Ya Rob got the pm, it worked!

im currently runing 3 of erics chips an my dad is runing 1 so that is 4 and all 4 cars ran 60% better an idled ALOT better after chip change. You sure you gave him your right specs ?
my 84# injectors idle just like a stock car

and ive had reds chips / joe lubrants chips no coment on his attitude / stock chips / and Eric aka turbo tweak chips

Are those 84# injectors high impedance, and if not I imagine that your computer's injector drivers have been upgraded? The reason I ask is that I'd like to know where I can have the drivers upgraded on my stock computer to handle low impedance injectors.

WHAT ? the chip and injectors are from tt, 60 lb, 5.7 chip

Sorry, somewhere in this thread somebody wrote about 84 # injectors. Wasn't you I guess. Yes, you can get, and have, (probably) high impedance 60 # injectors. So that's not a problem for the stock GM computer to handle without driver modifications.

I would go ahead and get a metal vacuum block, the plastic ones are known for not sealing well around the top of the throttle body and the plastic gets brittle and the nipples break off.
i know i have seen these somewhere, but cant find the site, any ideas?

okay, i installed injectors, chip, fuel reg, gauge ,rjc powerplate, 160 term, cleaned tb, iac, with new gaskets, all i can say is HOLY SHIT BAT-MAN!! what a difference. fuel pump, and alky and we will be ready to go racing boys ttarider :D
