In order to accommodate the ZR1 I just got, I bought a four post lift. We put it together on Friday and the TTA is content in its new home. Our house is up about 8 steps from the garage due to the crawl space. It is cool opening the door to the garage and looking at the side of the TTA. This lift is a little taller than normal and has about 6' 9" of clearance underneath. The highest part of the garage ceiling (between the beams) is 14'.

Did I ever tell you how much I hate you! I mean envy you! That is a sweet stable and set up you have there! :thumbup::clap:

It is a Direct Lift from Greg Smith Equipment. It was $2300 including delivery to a freight terminal in NC. My neighbor has had one for a few years and has been very happy with it. The only difference is mine goes about a foot higher than his.
 
Freakin awesome. I could have that clearance if my wife doesn't mind the car in our bedroom since the bedrooms in my house are over the 2 car garage. Have been thinking about blowing out the back of the garage and making a 4 car front to back (2 X 2) and put a lift in one of the spots. Enjoy!!!
 
I have a four post also but not that amount of room up top. My ceilings are a tall but not like what you have. All I need a couple more feet. Whoever said that envy thing, same here.

I helped my neighbor assemble his a few years ago, so his payback was to help with mine. His 20 year old son was there as well. The big problem was the two day laborers we hired who have done work for my neighbor in the past cancelled at the last minute. Most of it isn't too bad, but the worst parts are the two ramps. The right ramp weighs 330 lbs and the left ramp with the hydraulic cylinder underneath weighs 440 lbs. Fortunately my neighbor is an engineer and was quite good at employing levers and wheels to get the parts in to place.

The manual says 4 hours, it took us closer to 8.
 
I put mine together with my brother and my son. Like you said, the ramps are a pain. I did not lift them. I used cribbing and a jack to get them in place. The worst part of it was getting it back from the shipping depot. I had to hire a flat bed driver to get it back for me and drop it in my driveway.
 
ya getting it home from the store would be a pain too, I never thought of that. Sure would be nice to have one..... for cleaning under the car and pulling out transmssions.

Once you have one you are spoiled for sure...

Sweet setup you have man! Looks awesome.
 
Want one !!!! Hmmm need a much larger garage first ....

Very nice setup ... I've seen a number of them in use that way in the US and I always regret turning down an opportunity to move to that side of the world instead I ended up in the UK where roads and garages are built for the 60's minis lol
 
I wish I lived in an area with big garages. Unfortunately, I live in NYC where land is expensive and scarce. I was just barely able to fit the 2 cars in my garage with inches to spare. The car on top is 3 inches from the garage door, and the car on the bottom has 2 inches between the roof and the ramps. Its a very tight fit and I did not sleep the first few nights I had both cars in there like that. If i knew how to post pics I would post one, but I am pretty sure it has to be from a remote server, and I don't have a setup like that yet.

Just be glad most of you have garages. I have most of my stuff stashed away at friends and family's houses. Hoping to build a garage next year, maybe I will have to include a lift. I know they are a lot more affordable than they used to be. That would probably be the only way I could fit all my cars in a garage. My wife doesnt want a huge garage at this house. But whenever we move again I can have as big of one as I want. Hopefully.
 
Looks good, I look forward to having my own garage with a lift sometime in the near future. We talked about putting a lift in my parents garage for quite a while but we never did it. Now they're planning on moving in the next year or two so it's going to be on hold for quite a while. After working on cars using lifts for the last 2 months it's going to be hard to go back to laying on the ground and having dirt, rust, and fluids falling all over me.
 
Thats awesome, I would love to have a high ceiling like that. I put my 4 post up back in November. I have 10 foot ceilings in mine, and using the Backyard Buddy lift w/extended ramps. :worthy:
 
That's the same lift i have. My only wish was that it would go up faster and move the Hydraulic line closer to the front so it doesn't get in the way of of messing with the tires. I also got the jack which i use all the time.

You know you're spoiled when you complain about your lift going up too slowly. :aggressive:
 
The jack is my next purchase. It looks like it makes life so much easier. Do you have the hydraulic jack or the pneumatic jack?
 
The only problem I have found with the lift so far is now I can see how dirty my car is underneath. Looks like I have several weeks of work down there.
