Owner of TTA #616 checkin in..

Hello lads... I've owned TTA #616 for the last 10 or 11 years and periodically stop by here to look around. I thought I would set up an account and say Hi.

A little about me.. I've owned a few Turbo buick vehicles starting when I was 16 and ended up selling them to buy the TTA. I'm a technican at a GM dealership in Minnesota and involved with a few local car groups. (mainly Minnesota GM performance MNGMP.org where I am a moderator)

I see a few names around here that I remember from way back when we had turbo buick and TTA mailing lists in the 90's. Hopefully not too many people remember me from those days, I was pretty young and didn't really know much back then. :)

Hmmmmm details.. Well, to be honest I haven't done much with the car for the last 5 years or so. It's pretty sad, but I've only driven it a hand full of times in the last few years. It comes out of the garage for a spring and fall cleaning and makes it around for a few miles here and there.

The car is pretty stock with a few bolt ons. I have a TH 3inch stainless downpipe on the car and the normal cold air kit with K&N filter. It has different exhaust and a chip and thats pretty much it. It made a couple trips down a local drag strip 10 years ago and ran 12.60s @ 110mph

I have most of the stock parts packed away in case I want to return it to stock. I even have the original tires wrapped in plastic (there were removed about 18 years ago with about 1k miles on them). Sadly I am missing some of the owners kit and the original plug wires.

I don't really have any good images uploaded, but this will give you an idea what it looks like.

Hi Dan, can you confirm your VIN ends with 240766 please so I can update the VIN list accordingly.

Also do you have any paperwork confirming the build number from PHS or other source?

And on the driver side door you find a PAS sticker with 2 dates on them (both in the form month-year) one being the PAS build date and the other the GM build date if you could let me know as I'm capturing this info as well. And last thing on the radiator upper support you see a rivited id tag with a 6 digit number (something like 07-1234) this is the sequence number for all 3rd gen's built at Van Nuys so interesting to keep a record of as well so let me know and I'llupdate the list accordingly.

Thanks for sharing the info and posting photos of your TTA, as Jim said we all love seeing those photos even if they all look pretty much the same :-)

Yeah, the last 6 of the vin is indeed 240766. I don't believe I have any other paperwork confiriming the build number. Its been awhile since I went threw all the paperwork that I have filed away on the car though. I'll have to look threw it again.

Yes, the previous owner was a friend of mine named Jeff in Minnesota. I have documents from all the previous owners as well. The original owner purchased 3 TTAs and had them shipped to Texas for a collection. The 2nd owner bought the car with less than 1,000 miles(in the 90s) and moved it to Iowa. My friend Jeff purchased the car and moved it to Minnesota, and I've had it in Minnesota for the last 10 years.

I'm at work now, I'll have to look for the other ID tags and post back this weekend :)

Ok, the two build dates on the door sticker are 2/89 and 3/89. The first date was near the top of the door sticker under pas inc and the second date was further down and followed by the weight and tire information.

The rivited tag on the core support is 10-5670.
