2009 Trans Am Nationals

TTA850

Well-Known Member
The post about the GS Nats reminded me, after going through alot of work to get #124 ready for the Power tour I figure I'll get her out to a few other shows, and always wanted to go to the T/A Nats. Who else is going? I dont know if they do it every year or just this year scince it's an anniversary year but there are anniversary classes, we'll be in Class X-2 - Anniversary 3rd Generation (1984 & 1989). We'll also be doing the Tipp City Cruise Sat night.

There's also going to be a bunch of guys from thirdgen.org going including a bunch of Jamaica Yellow 1992 Trans Am's which will be cool to see together.

Please state if you're going and what you'll be driving!

Thanks,
Steve

Hope to see some of you guys out there :)

:burnrubber:A group of guys are coming in from Kansas City. These are all 2nd gen cars. I am taking the 79 the TTA will have to stay home. Looking forward to a great show. Will probably drive if the weather looks safe, if not the lame method.

I wish I could make it to the Trans Am Nationals, but it's right after classes start so we'll have to see. Are you planning on going to the Pontiac Nationals? In the like 4 years that I've gone I've only seen 2 other TTAs there....one racing and one car show side and both have only been there once.

The Pontiac Nationals look like fun but it would be just too much for me this summer and it seems geared more towards the traditional Pontiac V8. So far my big plans this summer are for the Power Tour June 6th to the 13th, Pontiac Show and Go at etown June 20th(and Pontiac vs the world Friday June 19th racing my red car) Firebird Lawn Show at Saratoga July 11th, and the T/A Nats Aug 28th to the 30th. I'm sure there are other things, hopefully local stuff, that will pop up but those are the ones I really want to make.

I'm still game for a meat and greet at the T/A nats. As I said in the past I may be able to arrange a place to stay. just need to know whos all going! the 20th birthday is passsing us by.

:shock::hump::shock:........................Not my kind of meet & greet!!:teehee:

The TA Nats is a great show. I drove out there the first year I bought my car back in '95. It was totally on a whim and I didn't even know the exact location! I figured I'd just follow any TAs or Firebirds I saw once I got to the correct town. I ended up going the next 8 or so years in a row but haven't been back since probably '03.

Have fun and enjoy! Lots of great cars and people.

Nice. There is always one comedian in every crowd, lol.

I'd love to hit the transam nationals again but it is just too far away. There are so many cool car shows it is tough to prioritize. The last time I had the TTA to the TA nationals was 1998 and I just parked in the parking lot instead of entering the show. It had bugs and I just didn't have time to really stick around for as long as I wanted. My gf (now wife) walked around for about 2-3 hours and hit the road again. We were in Cleveland and convinced her that it was just a little detour on our way home to Michigan, lol.

Steve,

I'll see you at Englishtown and Dayton. ;) maybe Saratoga if I am feeling ambitious. I may even get out to Norwalk if my friend wants to drive. hehe.

I look forward to seeing #124.

I took my TTA to the TA Nats last year. I have been at that show for the last 20 years...and will never miss it ! This year I'm taking a 70TA I just restored......

Thanks for the email!
Beautiful car!
I need to restore my 1970 Lucerne Blue 4 gear Trans Am, but I need an empty garage.
No way am I pulling out my good show cars for working on another.
Gets too dusty and windy out here.
I do have a Ram Air IV sitting on the side, inside the garage though. ;)
