wheel lock 'key'

Hey Guys how's it goin?? I have tta 1130 sittin pretty in my garage, but the drivers rear tire is going flat. I can't find the wheel lock key to remove the tire. I checked the spare tire well but I don't see it in there. Does anybody know????

Any ideas would be helpfull, I have a wheel lock for an 87 GTA, would that be the same??

Lock should be the same for all years I would think. I keep the one for the 91 in the center console....Ive yet to look for the 89
 
Keys should be differently "keyed" or they would not serve much of a purpose if they all where the same. I'm sure there's a number of different patterns used.

Anyway, you can try contacting the manufacturer as they are still around, http://www.amcorlocks.com/, and see if they can help.

The wheel locks all came with a small indentity card for key reordering (to get the right key pattern).

I got my original card that came with my car the wheel lock identification number is 7 digits starting wiht 0843xxx, this was a card that came in the GM box wiht the locking wheel nut set.
 
Both my 3rd gen cars had the locks in the center console(not that that means much) but I'd check EVERYWHERE !! because the options you have are limited. If you can't buy a new puzzle lock then take it to a reputable tire store and they should have a special socket that is driven over the puzzle lock lug nut. Then it can be removed...but it (all 4) will be ruined.
MAKE SURE THEY HAVE THE REMOVAL SOCKET! there is an old school trick involving a 1lb sledge and a chisel to rock the wheel stud back and forth in the hub. You do not want that!

I see puzzle lock lugs on e-bay from time to time, usually complete with key , and cheap too.

If its not in the car then you will need to remove it manually. It usually requires a 19mm socket, an extention just to give you room and a heavy hammer or sledge. hammer the 19mm socket over the lock and wedge it on. Then you can remove the locking lug. Like someone else said, it will be damaged, but its much cheaper than a tow bill and a mechanic. heck they might even do it the same way if they don't have the proper tool. Also, the socket will be damaged because the lug will be stuck in there, so don't use your favorite set of tools.
 
I suppose he could buy one of those lock removal sockets. It looks like a deep well impact with reverse rifling on the inside.
 
I lost my wheel lock key on my 15th and went to the dealer and bought a new set. The set I bought was the correct one, turns out they only had something like 15 variations of the locks.

Now I'll have to see if my 15th fits my 25th.
 
It should.
Thirdgen and fourth gens are the same, in mm.
For some reason, the AC-Delco ones are selling for good money on ebay lately.

It's a L69-HO as the CFI cars were only 82 and 83.

Oh, did not know that... I like the idea of the CFI, but most people called them "cease fire injection"

Thanks for the help guys, I finally found an old wheel lock key in my basement from an old set of tta rims. I still don't know where the one for tta 1130 is, who knows??? Anyways the wheel is off and I am gonna get the tire repaired.
