West Coast Shop

Hello,

Does anyone know of a good shop in the Los Angeles area for working on the Turbo Trans AM? I can do some of the stuff menial stuff, but in case I get in over my head I would like a place to go. I had a dealership that was supriseingly good up until this last experience. It took them 5 weeks to diagnose the the problem was the MAF only to then tell me that the part is discontinued by GM.

Another reason for a local shop is I recently had the engine rebuilt and it just does not seem the same. It seems to have to work hard to get up and run. I am not sure if it my imagination or not.

Also, what about a good aftermarket shop as well.? I know there are plently in various parts of the country, but would like one that I could just drive to and wander around.

Can't really help you out, as my car never went to a shop, other than for a furl pump replacement.
Now that I'm out in Arizona (moved out here from the Los Angeles area), I need to find somewhere here too! Anyone?
BTW, welcome to the site, and where in LA are you located?

Good luck,

George

I am in San Fernando Valley area which is about 15-20 minutes north of Los Angeles ..... depending on which freeway you get stuck on :-?

The reason I was looking for a shop was as more and more parts become discountuned by GM it may become more and more difficult to keep the car up. A good shop generally knows if there is an aftermarket part available. Fortunately the TTA is no longer my primary car, but it was when I first bought it in 1989 up until 2003.

Hi Harokin!
I use to take my 20th TTA up to Cruiser's off Tampa, out there in the Valley!
I use to hang out with a third gen car club way back! This was around 1999 or so, maybe a year or two after. The club has since disbanded!
They tried to start a new club, but I don't know how well they are doing with that, as I moved out to Arizona to retire!

Good luck, and if you find someone, let ,me know too! I visit out to the South bay every few months to visit family and friends.

Later,
