upper RPM power loss

Hello, I'm considering an '89 TTA (#109)

The dealer that has the car says it accelerates hard until the boost needle is pegged and then it shuts down.

What could be causing this? They are taking it to a garage that is familiar with GN's for a diagnosis. It has an adjustable wastegate and fuel pressure regulator.

check th inlet pipe, sometimes it come loss when you step on and then this may cause you to lose power. This has happen to me.
