Stalling when hot.

So TTA 365 is running and performing great but when the car gets hot and I am decellerating I notice the SES light blink a few times and then the car stalls. Then I will turn the key and the engine will turn over but not start. SO then I have to wait a 8-10 min until the car will start. In the morning when I first go to start the car she fires up no prob. Also when I am sitting at a red light she will stall out on me, that is getting really annoying. Any ideas?? scanmaster does not show a mal code.
Jarred.

You too? I've been chasing a similar problem all summer. I blamed it on the TT chip assuming it just didn't agree with my car for whatever reason. Eric tried to help but no luck. I went back to the extender chip and had the same problems last weekend. It always seems to happen after about an hour of driving, but up until that point it runs great. Frustrating to say the least. My high BLM's seemed to be the culprit everytime usually around 160 when it would stall. But this last time it was in the low 130's when it stalled.

The only difference is my SES light does not come on.

Your SES light flickers on decel probably because the RPM falls to under 400 which the ECM flags as "not running". In as much if you were to cycle the key on and off real fast.
And it would not throw a code for that either.

I too would be all over the chip at first for a decel fuel cut-off problem. But since you've swapped chips and noticed peak, upper limit BLM's indicating it's throwing fuel at it, I'd look at the MAF numbers under these conditions.

I hate to be a poop-head, but a powerlogger would show the how and why's to these type of problems.

Did you ever get an answer to your problem. My car starts right up when cold, runs great until I shut it off then wont start until it cools off. No codes and no SES light.

Your gonna need a couple things if you want a happy relationship with your turbo V6. A rail mounted fuel pressure gauge and a scanmaster to start with. Next is the factory service manual supplement that is specific to the TTA.

And of course you'll need money...

So far I have replaced maf, didn't help. Ign mod, didn't help. Crank sensor, didn't stall all last night, so I believe this has solved my problem. I will drive the car more this weekend. Tonight I drive my other tta, can't have favorites!!!!

If these cares are that picky I'm gonna keep my GTO ... starts and runs every time and it's easy to fix.

I hope my car runs without these issues. Is it safe to assume that if you keep a car stock that it will have less of these issues or am I smoking the good stuff? :notworking:

I suppose if you keep the car at factory specs then they aren't picky. But it still a 20 year old car, with 20 year old parts....stuff breaks.

If you start to wring out some more power then you open yourself up to problems...if done wrong or hastily.

This may be the learning experience I've been looking for in cars! Does anyone know of a person or shop in the Detroit / Ann Arbor area who works on these Turbos for a living (rather than just use the standard mechanic who tunes up the Goats?)

just wait until you get into the tta, you might not want to drive the goat. The sound of the turbo is addicting. Even my girlfriend is hooked on the turbo trans am.

I don't know ... if it was that fast it would have gotten here from Florida already!!! :wheelchair:

:burnrubber:

this is tta 1130 comin off truck. That's not me backin the car out, that is some french guy who delivers vehicles all over north america.

I planned on doing that ... BUT ... I just found out that my dad is very ill and I'm going drive or fly up there (need to get some cheap tickets) next week when my car will arrive ... Maybe my wife and son can get plenty of pics. Maybe I'll have a friend drive it home (about 8 miles from the terminal.)

I'll probably be going up there every other week for the next couple of months. If any of you are up in Boston - Concord - Leominster area ... would love to meet you.
