spark plugs and boost flutter FYI

So I decided to change the old spark plugs out for some AC delco R42 LTS plugs. Just to give them a try. As soon as I did that I got some very heavy boost flutter and vibration at 14-18 lbs boost.

Then I replaced those plugs with some NKG TRS 018-3971-0 and things were back to great again. Instantly. Thankfully.

I thought maybe I developed a header leak or vac leak over the winter. Dodged that bullet. I was gonna try autolite plugs but they don't have those here.

Jarred.

That's weird, I have always used those AC plugs and never had an issue R42 LTS. Which plugs did you pull out of the car and was it my old car #733?

What did you gap them to? Are you running the stock wires? Did you make sure that all of the wires were seated right on the plugs? I know that whenever I install new plugs I have to give some of the plug wires a couple of tries just to make sure that I feel it click on. I know that it probably clicks in right every time but I like to make sure I can feel/hear it to know for sure.

Ya I know that the wires have to be on really well, and I am sure that they were. I am using new plug wires from RJC racing. No they were not the plugs that were in the car when you sold it Mike, those ones were good.

I just read good things about the ac delcos and thought I'd give them a try. They were gapped to 30, I think the sticker says 35 but I went a little less.

I thought it seemed wierd, everyone else seemed to like those plugs, and they looked good when I took them out. But definately a night and day difference in respect to boost flutter.
