For 20 years of my life I drove Ford's, I did have one grand national, but I was not impressed with the handling, so I purchase the Thunderbird Turbo. I have recently purchased not one but two 1989 TTA's. At a cost of nearly $20,000.
The first car only ran about 500 miles before the transmission went and the motor began passing oil through cylinder number six.
Not to bad for a car that supposedly had $10,000 into the motor and transmission.
My second out of Ford experience,
I purchased a second TTA this car ran for about 400 miles before the crank sensor fell off of the vehicles leaving me stranded at 3:00 in the morning 20 miles from anywhere,
After finally convincing a tow truck to come and get me, I finally made it home just before sunrise, two hours of sleep and I was off to the parts supply house, I replaced the sensor, and a car began to drive under its own power, unfortunately the motor sounded like every lifter in the whole motor was collapsed. I was showing forty to sixty pounds of pressure on my inside gauge, I removed the valve covers and there is absolutely no oil getting to the top of the motor.
I was just curious if anyone has any suggestions. As to why there would be no oil getting to the top of the motor.
Supposedly the previous owner install a double roller timing chain, is there anyway this could affect oil pressure.
Thanks
Steve
