serpentine belt

I know this topic has been discussed numerous times, but the posts I found were old and it seems there is no definite answer.
I had the TTA out today and I could hear a vibration from the AC pulley hitting the idler pulley. I have a groove on the AC pulley. The belt is too long. What is everyone using as a replacement? From what I have read, stock is 1605mm and a 1595 mm is too tight.
I ordered a Gates K060630 which is supposed to be 1601mm. Hopefully it fits tighter. Anybody using this size?

I ordered a replacement belt that was supposed to be for a tta and when I got home it was too long, so I exchanged it for one size smaller and it works great. It is a Napa micro-V AT

Hope that helps that's all I have on serpentine belts.

It looks like Napa's version of the Gates belt I got - same part#. Hopefully it is the right one.

Also, some times people changed the alternator pulley to a smaller one so it would spin faster and that would also cause the belt to seem to big and the pulley to rub. Just my 2 cents.

I put on the Gates belt K060630 and it fits good. There is plenty of space between the AC pulley and the idler pulley.
The vibrating noise is still there though. It is definitely coming from the vicinity of the AC compressor and idler pulley. It only does it in gear when the RPMs drop. It sounds kind of like a loose bolt, like something needs to be tightened up. Nothing looks loose. Any body have any ideas?

The correct length 1605mm is available in Europe ... got a GoodYear on mine and it's 100% identical (length etc) as the GM OEM belts. Do a search for the generic part number 6PK1605 and you might find a supplier in the US.

Jan - the belt I put in is 1601mm inside diameter. It fits good. Unfortunately, the noise that I hoped to eliminate is still there. I thought for sure it would eliminate the noise.

Could the bearing in the tensioner pulley be bad?

It could be the bearing in the tensioner. I never heard a tensioner go bad like that. Usually they get noisy but they squeak.
