According to this article it is supposed to use the rear drive Alpha platform.

The GNX was VERY limited (547)... doesn't seem right (to me) to use that name on a more "common" vehicle(?)

Agree-when you hear "GNX", the image that comes to mind is not what that car looks like. Its too modern of a design. Definately not 80's.

At the very least, I like the grand National idea. It won't look like an 80's Regal, but it would be nice to see a rear drive performance offering from Buick again.
