Radio code

If you lost battery power (or had to disconnect it) and the radio says LOC (I think it's that or LOCKED) then just press the mute button on the steering wheel.

didn't work, any other suggestions ?

Did the radio work before?

The Mute button should work if it is the original radio.

If the radio was replaced it could be the wrong radio to work with our steering wheel controls.

Just because the radios look the same they do not all work with our cars.

Good Luck

You have to press and hold it down until the radio unlocks. Just pressing the mute button won't do it.

My question is how the hell do you change the time! 7 cars I can't remember this stuff! :)

Nice one Jim .... I beleive they might be sensative (hard to unlock) if your battery is low so make sure you have a good charge to start out with. You also got the wiring from the steering wheel controls to the radio along with that 2 pin connector in the back of the radio that might gone bad or come loose?

Post that in the other thread! :chair:

Thanks SKINNY!

It was a lot of work to get this girlish figure!! :teehee:

Reviving an old thread. I just purchased a TTA that is still at the classic car dealer awaiting shipping to me. The radio is locked and I told the sales representative about holding the mute button which he tried for me. He said it didn’t work. Any other suggestions? I have a few articles saved for obtaining a six digit code off the radio and then calling an 800 number, but I also read on here that that process is for newer radios and not for the ones in our cars. The car is 100% original with 40k miles, so I am 99% sure it’s the stock original radio. Any help would be great.
