I am looking for a new radiator and fans. Aftermarket is fine. Having cooling issues and burned a new tranny due to heat... oops
 
May of 2010 when I first got my car in Tennessee, I had a new radiator put in. Also had new relays in both fans too. I had this done by a shop in TN, I believe the radiator was rather inexpensive.

It cools great now, also put 160 degree thermostat in. This is a must for these cars.

Not sure which brand radiator they put in, must have been a aftermarket from NAPA or Discount Auto Parts.

Thanks... I am looking at a unit from summit. $300. 1 inch tubing and 2 cores. I'll be replacing the fan motors at the same time ($ 30 a piece). 160 is on the list too

Hoping that someone has a "BeCool"" unit with the fans and such included for sale :) Fingers crossed as I have one of those in my 68 camaro and it rocks!

I am guessing you have it mounted NOTY in front of intercooler? I have yet to pull stuff off and see how much room is in that space.

Does yours have the fan on it? I have heard they have one that does
 
mine doesnt have a fan on it .... but its large n can get air ... an i have a pts deep sump pan with all the goodies .. no sir its to the side

I got a stock replacement rad for really cheap 100 bucks I think and it keeps my car super cool,... of course I am in Canada, but even in Hebron I was good.
 
from what ive heard spial is the best fans ???? i was heard u cant use the factory fans with my front mount i did an put a spial fan infront of my front mount
 
So i paid like $97 for the radiator (stock replacement), $30 er fan and $150 for a trans cooler with fan. here in South FL, every little bit will help.

I went to change out my thermostat to a 180 (195 is tock?) and have a question.... Is the inlet supposed to come of easily after pulling the single bolt and plate? Or do you have to pull into the intake to get to the thermostat?
 
its probably a bit corroded and stuck in there. I had to pull my water inlet out with pliers and I bent it a little. Didn't matter as I was installing a new one.
 
Jarred: thanks for all of your reply's... they have helped. A new inlet tube should be arriving today, along with a 160 thermostat. I bent my old one too, just enough to NOT allow a clamp to seal the hose.
 
Ok, TTA and Jarredsoon: After replacing my inlet tube with a nice stainless aftermarket one from Kirban, I notice that when tightening the single bolted plate holder thing that the tube does not seem to make an even or tight fit.

In fact, I may have tightened too much as I stripped the hole and need to get either a longer bolt or rethread the hole now, and I never even got the thing tight (always something)

Is it just me or should the top tube have a tight setting inside that hole? Wouldn't pressure pop one side of the tube if I can see the o-ring already?

If I tighten the the bolt enough to get the tube all the way in, one side of the O-Rig shows. If I keep it even, then it apears that it will leak like a pasta strainer.

Thoughts?

First check that the tstat is in the correct way and not backwards. Also the water inlet tube should insert into the intake manifold deep enough so you don't see any o ring. always be careful when torquing bolts into the manifold it is very soft and easy to strip, I'd tap that hole and see if that helps. When I take my plate holder off the inlet tube is still non movable and tough to remove from the manifold. If you can see o ring your not in deep enough.
