What do you guys perfer. The TTA's with the decals or naked? :) This is something I'm on the fence about big time. I like the TTA's both ways. I keep my sets of decals hidden so they don't tempt me but I think one day I'll put them on. Post what you like!
 
I had really no choice ... I bought it with them on, but I like it that way, people look at me and say" look at this guy ... hahahaha put decals on his car !!" then the light turns green and >>>>>>>>> GONE ... they're not laughing anymore !!! it's kinda fun !! especially at the track !!LOL
 
I like them better without the decals but mine came with them on it so I left them on. I think they look a lot cleaner without them, but the cars get noticed more with the decals on. I think without the decals you get the recognition of the enthusiasts who will be like "hey it's a turbo trans am" compared to the average joe who just says "it's a pace car". In your case Jim where you mainly just show the car and let it sit in the garage I would put the decals on because it's part of what the car is supposed to be.
 
One of mine has them on and one does not have them on. I like them both. :D But I think I would just want the the windshield on and nothing on the doors.

yea I've been thinking about it Jared but it's like everytime I get in the mood to do it somoene says ahh just leave it! lol It is nice to be in sleeper mode with them off. I kill more Rustangs that way. Then again when I'm at a show and someone walks past and says nice clean GTA I wanna shoot them. I have a few extra sets of door decals but if I get an extra windsheild decal I think that will really make me want to put them on! :)

Why not just buy the reporoduction ones that Phoenix Graphics makes? Then you don't have to pay the price of the originals. I like to collect the original stuff and use the reproduction stuff.
 
#299 has no decals and #1397 has both. I like the clean look of no decals but at the same time i like to represent and let people know its a pacecar.

I need to get just that decal to put on my car.
Like Jim, I have quite a few door decals, and I do have 3 complete owner's kits, but don't want to rob anything out of those.
When Motorsports Designs did them for Pontiac, they were at a good price.
When they lost Pontiac's deal, Phoenix Grafix got the deal, the price jumped up 200 bucks for the kit.
I have not seen Phoenix's windshield decal in person, is it just like the original?
Solid letters, with a clear separate decal of the indy logo with it in white?
I'd like to know.
Just may have to break down and buy the windshield decal by itself.

I don't know for sure if it's that exact, just give them a call. I've heard they have really good customer service. I'm sure they have to be really close in order to get GM licensing.
 
I'm really not a fan of them.
Bought a complete decal package for my 1979 Trans Am convertible (blue car), and since my car didn't have the 400 engine, but the 403, I used Pontiac's 6.6 liter decals.
Pontiac's blue decals use gold in the center, while Phornix used silver.
Called to tell them about it, and they didn't care.
Of course I didn't find out till I installed them.
They won't for some reason make 6-6 liter decals. yet most of the Trans Ams came with that engine.
Because of this, I tend to only use original GM stuff.

I like my Festival car with the decals since it was used at Indy. I Like my Hardtop without the decals. Originally Pontiac was marketing the Hardtop as just a 20th Anniversary and the T-Top cars being 20th Anniversary and Indy pace car replicas.

I don't think the decals add value. If I had to put one on, it would be the windshield graphic. I'm happy to the door ones rolled up in the original box ...

naked baby...makes them more of a sleeper. Besides the exhaust, you cant tell mine from a GTA...no one looks at the emblems around here
 
I like them both. If I bought a car with no decals, I'd leave them off. If I bought a car with them, I'd leave them on. As it happened, the car I bought has all the stickers on it.
 
Safety checks here in Hawaii made me remove the windshield banner, not that it was a complete banner anyway, it was missing (for some wierd reason) the Indy side stuff, probably re-done at one point. Now all I have are the door labels. When I eventually repaint the car, I'll go with no decals. just so I have a clean look. No sense having door labels if I can't (by law) have a windshield banner, right?

that's kind of weird that they won't let you have the windshield banner, there's no real safety hazards for it and normally the make exemptions for things that came stock on the car.
 
Yeah, that was my argument - OEM equipment, came with it, it's only been on the car for the past sixteen years in the same state and still on the car, no-go....

Previous owner of TTA 1078 had to take the windshield banner off when registerd in Virginia ... got stopped by the police apparently
