Pictures from largest American Car meet in the UK!

WOW Jan great pics! It's ashame you guys have to have front plate mounting! :( I normally like a front plate on my car but on the TTA's it looks yucky :( Lotta nice stuff there! I had my TTA out this weekend to a show and a cruise all in one day! :)

Congrads Jan!
That your first show since the restore?
This next weekend is another show, and only one trophy will be given out. Sponsered by a race car club, so I don't think any stock looking cars will get it!
Oh ya, the first car swap meet too! 3 days worth too!
I'll be selling stuff, but I really doubt I'll be bringing any Trans Am parts! All these guys are Ford and Chevy guys! But, we'll see!

Have a good one,

George

Thanks George,

Been too a few shows since I got the TTA back together last year but some of the general shows they tend to give their "buddies" with old 50's or 60's cars all the trophy's ..... went up there with mine last year at a show and the judge had no clue what it was, just another GTA with a decal package :-( I'm sure he hates anything built after 1970 ;)

Came back from Rockingham Speedway Sunday evening and we (the club) was invited for the drivers parade (take the drivers around the course) as well as a seperate parade around the track, my tires kept making this funny noice shifting from 1st to 2nd :-)

Hope to visit again, might go out to LA and Frisco August/September timefram so might take a weekend off or so ... I'll let you know.

My best to Lisa and you of course ;)

Jim,

Nice picture!

Yep we do have to have the front license plate or we get done .... but I use the original GM brackets (all freshly powder coated of course with stainless steel fasteners I had black oxide treated) so I don't mind it actually ... I've seen worse home made setups that do ruin the look of the cars.

Man Jan!
I am finding out every day, how small this world is!
We had a big three day auto swap meet here in Kingman, the first ever!
A car show on the 4th, with firework show after. Got home after 11 at night!
Kinda tired, as we just sat out in the sun for three full days!
No Pontiac buyers, as the five first gen birds, as well as the two third gen birds, all sport Chevy 454s!
I want my car as stock as I can keep, so I'm now the slowest of the bunch!
Anyway, I was sitting at my swap space, when this guy walks up, looks at all my state plates, and tries to talk English to me. Things are not working out well between us, and lucky for us, his wife and one son walk over, and soon we get sorted out.
Anyway, the guy owns a '72 Esprit. Oh ya, he's from Sweden! The whole family! Soon, Lisa is at the swap meet still, and I have the whole family (five of them) at the house showing stuff. He saw quite a few things he wanted, but was worried about shipping, so he has my email address to get in touch!
I told them I have a friend or two from Sweden, and told them about you.
Anyway, while looking thru some pics (Texas Looseys and SEMA), the oldest brother (sorry, but I can't remember his name, first or last) says "I know that guy! Jan!
It seems he worked with you about 8- years ago or so, told he the name of the company (the one you were at before the one you are at now). But, I forgot that name too! This getting old sucks!
He didn't know you had a American car like mine! BTW, the whole family love my car!
They could not believe that even I knew you!
Boy, what a small world!
They left to go to Sacto, then Frisco to fly home at the end of this week.
Come on out anytime you want! You are always welcome!

Have a good one,

George

What can I say, I'm a famouse guy :-) So what was the name of the guys? Did he mention a company called Holotech?

Small world I must say.

Cheers Mate ;)

Hi Jan!
It was Holotech!
It was so funny to see the faces of all of them when they found out I knew you! I had talked about you and the few others I have met from Sweden! I guess it didn't dawn on them till they saw the pic!
The one son may sign up on the Swedish Trans Am Club Website. The dad too, but he couldn't speak English at all.
The youngest son works for Volvo. He loved the English version Press Kit I gave him!
All I have is the youngest son's email address (I can't remember the older brother, who worked for you.
Anyway, I'll email you the address for the youngest son.

Have a good one,

George
Slightly less famous than you, it seems! :P
