No Start Problem

I purchased an 89 Turbo Trans Am about a month ago. I had random incidents where the car would not crank for no apparent reason. After about a half an hour to forty minutes of attempting to start the car at five (5) minute intervals, the car would crank and start. A GM mechanic suggested that I determine the resistence value of my ignition key and insert a resistor of equal value in the key circuit wiring to the Passkey Decoder Module. I did so and had no start up problems until today. Same situation as before; no crank for forty minutes at five minute intervals, then the car started and ran. Also, please note that the car came with and is running a Thrasher Chip #92-30KT.000. Might this chip have an effect on this start up problem?

Make sure the chip does not have some type of security mode on it. Also could be ground issue. Check all your settings as well IE: TPS etc. Coil, coil pack and or module also could be doing that. Might even be some bad plug wires! Just keep probing around and you'll get it.

Thrasher chip does have a start up procedure.

1.Put car in [drive]

2. mash throttle to the floor [twice].

3.back to park

4.start as usual

That was the sequence when I used a Thrasher Chip.

I switched to a Turbo Tweak alky chip when installing
my Alky Control kit.
WOW!!! these are great chips!!!
Not expensive either....
