Hi all, I'm joining up to learn about the car that I one day hope to have here as soon as I get my credit cards paid off. I've been a fan of the Trans AM for pretty much as long as I can remember.

Growing up in the 80s I was a huge Knight Rider fan and the 82-92 Trans Am was really the first car that I fell in love with and wanted to have.

I'm old enough now (almost 30, getting to be old!) I won't get blasted for insurance and I can afford one. I think the 89 turbo is prob the best of them all, I just hate there is so few of them, makes getting one alot more pricey and difficult.

There was a pretty nice one on ebay a day or two ago that went for 17k, that really got me interested in doing this

Also how easy would it be to make a Clone, like say take an 87 GTA and get the buick 3.8 motor and trans in there, anyone do that at all

you're going to end up spending close to what you will for a real one to be honest. By the time that you buy the headers, downpipe, wire harness, motor, transmission, driveshaft, etc it racks up quick and you'll be spending some time working out all the kinks once it's together. If you keep your eye out you can find a pretty nice TTA for 12-13k with decent mileage.

I'm kinda stuck right now I owe 13k on my Cobalt SS and another 8700 on credit cards because I dumped a bunch into it. I'm thinking now just get rid of it and use the money from the car and parts and get one F-body then get a 02 Ecotec Cavalier which would be my beater, I'd prob boost that too lol
