Intake swap

Will a turbo intake from my 81 interchange with anything.
Most people tell me no but they weren't 100% positive.
Maybe like a newer motor off a Formula TA


Another thing, I had to change the sub-frame out due to an accident and when we put the new sub-frame under the car, we had to cut the cat off so the transmission crossmember would go in easier. Seeing as there is not cat anymore and only about 4 feet of exhaust left will it shoot flames or not.

Well,
The intake will NOT fit with anything else, or another non-turbo intake will not fit with yours! Unless you are replacing the turbo setup to just be a regular carbed 301! The 301 turbo/non-turbo intake is a single plane intake, not quite the same size as the other intakes in the Pontiac lineup. 301 engine family only!
As for flames shooting out, it probally will! Hope there is no oil on anything underneath!!
You can always just use a straight pipe to get the exhaust back to the muffler/resonator, if they're still attached! You don't want to get the carpet inside the car too hot! Or, just weld the exhaust to go out the side of the car, before the wheels!

A friend of mine has a glasspack he just took off his truck.
If I ran that straight off the exhaust I have now would that get rid of the problem or not.

Ya, it should. Just have it exit out behind the car. Sometimes the cops will pull you over with the NASCAR style exhaust (out the side of the car, in front of the rear wheels).
Just so you know, Flowmaster exhaust sounds really killer!!!

Yeah you are stuck with that manifold. As for the exhaust the glasspacks would work fine. Turbo cars are quiet by nature.
