Improving TTA Brake performance

I bought the Earl's SS lines from Summit back in the day. Looks like they don't carry the Earl's kit anymore but they do have a kit from Russell, $114.

i would leave everything as is and add hydro boost...then these brakes will be unbelievable....

NOW the brakes lock up.

This week, I had a new master cylinder and booster installed. The booster replacement seems to have addressed the last remaining vacuum leak. New fluid. Also found out that the brake pads were ceramic and the rotors had some kind of coating on them (perhaps from the ceramic pads). Had the pads replaced with a semi-metallic pad.

Yeah, it locks up really well now. :thumbup:

Guess I'm adding Brakes to my to-do list on the TTA. When I drove a truck for a daily, I thought the brakes on the TTA weren't all that bad. But now after driving an Audi and reading this post, the brakes on the TTA definatly need some work.

man if ya wanna see brakes that need some work, drive a 1987 trans am GTA, that car is so.... heavy and takes forever to slow down. Way longer than any tta, even though very close to the same car. When I drive that car I make an effort not to follow anyone too close as I fear I will rear end them.
