Finally in the tens!!!

After a long time and many new car parts, I finally got in the tens consistently yesterday. I just had the fuel system redone with an aeromotive regulator and pump and new billet fuel rails from Tom at champion. This is of course on top of everything else I did before like my weber stroker motor. For those who don't know two years ago I ran 11.2 and shortly after lost oil pressure due to the block cracking and the cam bearings spinning.

Anyway yesterday was super fun at the track as the car went great and still live to drive in the trailer. Maggi came out too to enjoy the day also. I tried to get her to run her car but she would not, :(

Details of the run are I launched off the trans brake at 5 psi, and max boost was 25, my exhaust dump was closed as when open boost goes higher and I was too shy for any more than that. I spray dual nozzles meth. This was in Edmonton where the elevation is ~ 2300 feet above sea level. If you tap the ? below the pics it should play the video bit doesn't show up well?? I attached a link to the video. Should work better.

Nice Job! I know you have done a ton of wrenching on that thing. Sure nice to see it paying off. Ten is major accomplishment.

Dang Jarred. That's moving! Congrats PLAYER!

Joe
You nailed it 976, Jarred's new screen name is PLAYER , man o' man , 20 something yr old, killer cars , killer GF, killer garage and now a 10sec TTA, if i had your hand i'd throw mine in  Last time i had all that going on Barry Manilow was a newbe and CCR was rock'in....;)

Awesome run Jarred!! I saw in a previous post you put 295's on the rear. How did those tires work out for you compared to the 255's?

Thanks guys!!!
I am gonna go back to the track in August and see how much more I can get out of this car. Justly is too busy for racing.

The 295's are great, they fit fine and are good for traction IMO. I was not spinning off the line with the at all at. 5lb boost launch. Next time I'll see if I can launch at 10 lbs boost without spinning. I have 15 psi of air I the tires.

i couldnt tell if it was spinning or gripping the vht the 60ft ... u can hear it tearing up the track ... good deal

Jarred, what turbo did you end up with? stall?

I have a 6766 ball bearing precision turbo and a PTC non lock converter. I think it stalls around 3300. Builds boost well, with the vigilante I had an 8-10 sec reaction time building boost before launching. Now it's 2 sec.
Dusty advised me on the turbo and converter, they seem to work well together. I change so many parts every winter it's hard to determine what effect each one has. The car is pretty much done, I am only going to change to a 4" intake now and thats it.

Oh and also I have two external trans coolers lol, but no oil cooler

I'm only looking for mid-high 10's so i think a 6262 bb will be plenty big enough, have 3200 art carr NL and trans, a te60 may even do it but not the ta60 i have now. you hear of guy's getting in the 10's with a te60 or even a te44 but they are most likely pushing everthing to the edge. Btw, didn't know that stall would with that turbo...

best i could get out of my TE60 27-8 #'s of boost in the GN was 7.40's 1/8 an 11.50's 1/4
stock long block got a 6768 an went 10.97 2nd pass ... both had converter issues the TE60 has an art car 3400 it would pick the tire up an get a 1.55 on 275/50's ... the 6768 had a pts 3400 with 275/60's 1.66 i think on the 10 sec pass

my heads were lifting with the lil te 60 on top end messed up maf sensor went lean with the 6768 an it blew both gaskets

Was that a stock Maf ? are there any major diffrence between the te44 and the te60? (te44 bb .63a/r )

That's a rippin' 60'...I'm soooo jealous.

I'd like to hear more about the 295's out back.

Perhaps you can post a PL file of one of those runs??

Congrats!
