Chip changing? Need help!

I recently changed my ATR Pittbull chip to a Thrasher 92. I unhooked the orange wire. I then plugged it back in. I tried to start the Car and it would not start. Is it the Idle Air Control (IAC) ? If I put the ATR chip back in, will it start? I haven't tried it yet. The Car ran perfect before I screwed around with it. Help???

Maybe you have the anti-theft feature Thrasher chip. Does it start and run for like a second or two, then die out? Or just not start at all? Also, there is a notch on the chip "carrier" that must line up with the notch in the ECM. If for some reason this didn't happen you may have damaged both the chip and the ECM.

My advice, change your chip back to the ATR (never thought I'd say that) to see if it starts. That's the easiest way to troubleshoot it. If it starts you either have the anti-theft version of the Thrasher or possibly a bad chip.

Just a couple of words on the anti-theft feature. PLEASE, NO POSTING ON HOW TO DISABLE THIS! An anti-theft device does not work very well if instructions on how to disable it are publicly posted on the internet.

Just thought I needed to say that since I've seen people post the instructions before, although not on this forum. To quote Benjamin Franklin, "There's nothing common about common sense." DontKnow:

It is the anti theft feature chip. It starts on the first try, for a second or two. Then will not start at all. Engine seems to not getting spark, gas, or the right amount of air?
I lined up the new chip just the way the ATR chip came out. When I turn the key, the fuel pump turns on like it is supposed to. Would the ECM be bad if the pump worked at start up? I hope I did not screw anything up. The new Thrasher is a 92-30-K2.... chip.

I just read the anti theft instructions given to me from the original owner last night. I will not post. Should I try this first? Or should I put the old chip back in? I know I put the new chip in right.

Re: Chip changing?

Thanks Gentlemen! The Car started up on the first try!!! I was unaware of the anti theft program. At first, the previous owner told me it was just "plug in and play" . Thanks for your info, because of this thread my Car is running PERFECT and sooo much smoother!!
