As Gbody.com will be at the TTA Re-union in Hebron I'm tempted to ask them to bring a few things one of them being their reproduction radiator tank heatshield http://www.gbodyparts.com/product_i...0}232&osCsid=8edefd9b0b8ba15e7f68b17d5c9dd133

Anyone bought it and could share any comments on it wiht regards to quality, look and feel compared to the OEM version and how well it seems to hold up etc before I ask them to bring one or a few of them.

Yes, Jan I got one of the shields around a year ago as well as a new tank from them. The shield has held up nicely. The main thing is you do not want to get it wet. Seems to be a quality product, what i've seen, it is more shinier than the orig one.:coffee:

I got one also along with a new coolant tank last fall. It made a big difference in the appearance of my engine bay as the orig was cracked and nasty looking. I have never gotten it wet, so I dont know about that. It seems quality to me and fit nice.

Thanks guys ... so what happens if it gets wet? Don't think it ever will but just like to know if it gets ruined, stained or ?

I want one too! Been waiting to see one in person. I'm sure he'll bring up any TTA stuff he has. He also owns a TTA! So call him up and bitch him out to make sure he hauls his TTA up to the reunion! :)

Here is a picture of the Heatshield installed back in august 2010.

This is only 2 months after I got my car. I sure had a lot of work ahead of me.

WS6 bought one, in fact they used his to design it.

I am sure he can comment further! I hope Brian has them in Ohio. I would rather not run my NOS one year round.

When I ordered mine, they told me they made them as they got ordered. So it took a couple weeks till I got it. Maybe you better contact them now and tell them to make up few to bring.

Thanks guys ... still curious to understand why not get it wet :-)

Anyway dropped Brian @ Gbody.com a line to make sure he brings enough of them along with other bits that fit our cars ... I'll let you know what he says .. might be that he wants some pre-paid orders to bring some of the stuff out there but hope not ...

I guess I should have said, when I clean my engine bay I like to remove it.

Afraid of damage from chemicals, etc.

Brian will bring some stuff for us ... the heat shields he have to get 5 at a time ordered and made (expensive a lots of work he mentioned; to make them that is) but will be done ... and he will have tons of other stuff with him as well...

He did mention a lot of people put in pre-paid orders he will box up and bring out there to help save people shipping so I might end up doing that just to make sure I get what I want :-)

Sweet! My heat sheild is getting a little aged and I wanted to change it out. Guess I'll have to bring some more spare money along! :)

For those of you that haven't met Brian in person he's a cool guy and will do anything for you! He's one of them good old boys from down south that's for sure! I'm pumped he'll be at the reunion this year! I haven't seen him since last years tb.com event. Hopefully he can stuff his TTA in that trailer too!! :)
