'89 Indy 500 jacket & pewter plate

Up for sale are a couple of rare items that took me a while to track down.

The first is a jacket with the 1989 Indy 500 logo embroidered on the left side and the Mobil 1 logo on the left sleeve near the cuff. Size is XL and appears to run fairly true to size. Color is white with green & red accents. The jacket is in VGC and doesn't appear to have been worn.

The second item is a rare collectible pewter plate with the 1989 Indy 500 logo and the Borg-Warner trophy in the center with IMS around the outside. The back of the plate has a place to hang for display. Excellent condition.

Ron, the pewter plate is it numbered? They picture this one in the 1989 Indy program and it says they are numbered. I got one as well but it's not numbered so just like to confirm that is the case. Nice jacket by the way, got one as well .... Jim think you are missing some great stuff here .... hey we got more TTA goodies on this side of the pond than you have looks like :rofl:

I don't know why you guys are worried about a number?
Only a few were stamped with Hardtop on them. :)

Looks like you found a Mobil One fan Ron! :thumbup: For some reason that jacket was never a popular one with the TTA fans. The most I've ever seen one of those sell for over the years was 50 bucks! Grab the money and run! :D :cheers:
 
I did see another jacket sell for $150 on eBay before so I figured I'd try the buy it now price.

Not sure if everyone else does this (I know a few do) but I keep print outs of past auctions so I have an idea of an item's value. That and an inventory with pictures would be key if something were to ever happen to the collection. How else would you prove the value to some bean counter at an insurance company? DontKnow:
