I'm gunna make this like a master thread of all the car shows coming up for this year. If you know of any shows that aren't listed just post them up along with a little info about the show.
March 16-18 Southern Trans Am Regional Show (STARS) - Located in Destin, FL this show is setup like the Trans Am Nationals and Great Lakes show. It was designed to give those people in the south who don't have as many Pontiac and Trans Am specific car shows the opportunity to have their own show. The show has continued to grow over the past couple years and I've heard it's a lot of fun. Looks like they do a cruise on the beach on Saturday afternoon and have dinner together on Sunday night.
June 22-24 Great Lakes Firebird Gathering - Located in Dundee, MI the show is held at the well known outdoor store, Cabelas. This is a smaller show with attendance around 100 cars typically, but it's very well run and a fun weekend. Since the show is located at Cabela's there is a resteraunt inside the store that serves great food from all different kinds of wild game. There's a dinner on Friday night, a Cruise on Saturday night, and another dinner on Sunday night for those that are interested. I have been to this show for the 2 years it has been going on now so if you have any questions feel free to ask.
July 10-14 Pontiac Oakland Club International Convention - This year the show is being held in Tulsa, OK. I've never been to this show, but I know several people who have. I've never heard anything bad about it ever, and the best display of high quality Trans Ams can be found here. Cars come from all over the world to recieve the high honor awards of excellence in quality restoration that are given at this show.
August 10-12 Pontiac Nationals - This is locate in Norwalk, OH at Norwalk Raceway Park. This is the biggest Pontiac show in the U.S. with 600-700 racing and 300-400 cars in the car show. The show is sponsored by Steve Ames from Ames Performance and he realizes that the fans are his customers and this is his way of giving back to them. This is the best run show I have ever been to they have special features like golf cart shuttles to drive you around the park, lots of free food with car entry, free juice coffee and doughnuts in the mornings, free cookies and lemonade in the evening, they give 1/6 of the entrants their entry fee back, thousands of dollars of giveaways, and opportunities to sit in the press box during the day. The drag racing features several classes with cars running from 6 to 20 second quarter miles. I've been to the show for the last two years, and I plan on going back every year from now on.
August 24-26 Trans Am Nationals - The show is located in Dayton, OH and I believe is the largest Trans Am show in the world with over 400 cars on hand. There's a nice swap meet where you can find some of those TTA exclusive items. There's drag racing on Saturday during the day at Kil-Kare Speedway about 15 minutes from the show with an All Pontiac drag day, a very nice cruise in saturday night in downtown Tipp City (this is truely the best part of the show), and of course the show all weekend with awards on Sunday night. I've been to this show 4 years now, and although I didn't get to go last year I plan on trying to go this year.
